An EXCITING New Event coming for the
2010 Whisker Walk!!! Dog Geo Caching!
If your not familiar with this new sport Dog Caching is a dog friendly "scavenger hunt" called geocaching that you play with your GPS and in this case, your dog.
The purpose of the game is to locate containers that are hidden in dog friendly locations and parks - at our Whisker Walk Fairground. Your dog does not have to be specially trained to participate. Its a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment.
What's a Whisker Walk you Ask?
Well its alot of things ... but mostly its a FREE, fun day for families and their dogs PLUS a dog walk-a-thon fundraiser to benefit animal shelters and rescue groups throughout New England.
The 2009 Whisker Walk brought in almost a HUNDRED animal rescue groups, pet related vendors/manufacturers and sponsors for the first of its kind “event not to be missed” for pet lovers. The 2010 Whisker Walk is sure to be bigger and better!
Held at the Lancaster Fairground (Home of the Bolton Fair) there are 50+ acres for Pet owners and animal lovers to walk, visit vendors, see, do and buy PLUS they can lend a paw for the animals shelters and pet rescues they love and support!
Come see exhibits, demonstrations, educational programs, special attractions, product giveaways, entertainment, auctions/raffles, food, fun and things for adults and kids to see, do and buy – both human and pet related!
